I first met Rob in 1997 when he was one of the finalists of the 2nd Tokyo International Photo-Biennale sponsored by the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography. His street photos of Tokyo caught their attention, and later they made it into Weekly Asahi Graph magazine's Oct. 16, 1998 issue. The 12 photos that appeared in that issue is reproduced here. The series was aptly titled, "In the Mood for Tokyo." (Unfortunately, the magazine folded in 2000.)

From the April 2, 1999 issue of Weekly Asahi Graph magazine, a new photo column called "Tokyo Wonderland" featured one of Rob's street photos every week for about a year. Many of the photos capture the decisive moment or the decisive person. And there's a lot of humor.
