 iStore is PhotoGuide Japan's online shop where anything and everything we sell online is processed here. Whether it's for books, proxy bidding for auctions, or the sale of online ad space at PhotoGuide Japan, all paying customers and orders will be processed through this iStore. We ship from Tokyo, Japan.
What's What at iStore
On the left, there are four menu boxes:
iStore Catalogs contains links to our product catalogs. These catalogs have goods and services that we sell directly to customers. We mainly sell Japanese photo books as you can see in the iStore Book Catalogs. Note that most of our business is based on a request basis. Our catalogs show only a tiny fraction of what's available. Therefore, if there is a book you want, contact us and tell us the title and/or photographer/author of the book you want. You can search for books at publisher Web sites and auctions by using the links in the Proxyshop box on the left. You can also find old and out-of-print books in our PhotoReviews catalog and order out-of-print titles through ProxyShop. All our book prices include shipping from Japan (via SAL) and are in US dollars.
ProxyShop has links to our proxy bidding and shopping service. Merchandise that we do not stock or sell directly can be obtained from auctions and other third parties through ProxyShop. For example, we can bid on auctions in Japan for you or buy anything from other online shops in Japan for you. Learn more...

The right column has boxes for your shopping cart, language preference (English or Japanese), and currency preference (USD or yen). The Japanese version is still incomplete, and the yen currency is available only for items which target customers in Japan. Otherwise, all prices are in US dollars.
For your convenience, we also provide Amazon search boxes to shop at Amazon.com or Amazon.co.jp (Japan). See more Amazon search boxes here. (We receive a commission from Amazon if you use our search box and buy something.)
New Products box at the bottom of this page shows the latest products added to the iStore Catalogs.
Other Features
Customer registration - All paying customers must register (free) at iStore with your name, shipping address, and email address. (We do not request nor keep credit card information.) When you want to pay for something at iStore, login and use iStore's shopping cart and checkout process (for items in the iStore Catalogs) or use the Proxy Payment Form for third-party items.
Order tracking - After you login, you can access your account and keep track of your orders and payments at iStore. You can also check the status of your current order.
Order form - When using ProxyShop and you want a price quote, use our Order Form.
Proxy Payment Form - When using ProxyShop, use our Proxy Payment Form to send payment. When you pay via PayPal, do it with iStore's checkout process instead of going directly to the PayPal site to pay. Our checkout system is integrated with PayPal. Your PayPal payment will then be recorded in your iStore account.
SSL for secure transactions - We have our own secure server at https://photojpn.org/ (not https://www.photojpn.org). Customer registration and the checkout page use secure Web pages.
How to Use iStore
Browse for products - There are various ways to find what you want. You can browse our iStore Catalogs (see the upper left menu box), use the links in the ProxyShop menu box to visit Japanese auction and shopping sites, or visit any online shop in Japan that you know about. We also provide a quick tour of Yahoo! Japan Auctions and Rakuten (two of Japan's largest auction and shopping sites) in English.
Order and send payment - If you find something you want in our iStore Catalogs, just put it in your shopping cart and proceed to checkout. If you find something you want at an auction or shopping site, first use our order form to request a price quote. If you agree with our price quote, use our Proxy Payment Form to send payment. This is a generic payment form that can be used to pay for anything. Learn more about how to order and payment methods...
Check your order status - We will email you when your payment is confirmed and when your order is shipped. You can also login to your account and check the status of your order.
